LGH WFSA MamaBirthie CS Application

Applications are now closed

MamaBirthie CS
In partnership, WFSA (World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists) and Laerdal Global Health invite applications to receive MamaBirthie CS, a birthing and safe cesarean simulator.

Over the years, global cesarean section rates have significantly increased from around 7% in 1990 to 21% in 2021. This trend is projected to continue increasing over the current decade where both unmet needs and overuse are expected to coexist with the projected global rate of 29% by 2030 (WHO, 2020) .

Our Partnership

Together with the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) we aim to improve access to training for managing obstetric emergencies. A cesarian section can be a lifesaving procedure in situations like prolonged or obstructed labor, fetal distress or abnormal positioning. However, all surgeries come with risks. That’s why simulation-based training is essential.

The goal is to distribute our birthing and safe cesaerean simulators where they will have a catalytic effect, either kicking off new projects for training clinicians for safe obstetric interventions or increasing the reach and impact of existing projects.

Together with the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA) we invited applications to receive MamaBirthie CS birthing and safe cesarean simulators.
