Laerdal's partnership with the Global Financing Facility
Laerdal and GFF: A partnership that will take innovations to scale, for maternal and newborn health
Today we take one more step in our commitment to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Laerdal and the Global Financing Facility (GFF) have formed a partnership that will take innovations to scale at country level, form startegic collaborations focused on smarter investments, capitalize on digital tech, improve quality of care, and ensure that training translates to patient outcomes.
Mothers and babies in many countries around the world still don't receive quality care, and too many die from preventable conditions. The Global Financing Facility was established to help fill the significant financing gap that would prevent countries from reaching the Sustainable Development Goals to prevent maternal, newborn and child deaths.
Laerdal has pledged 12.5 million USD, a sum that will be matched by GFF. Together, we will announce a call for proposals in January 2019 for implementation partners who within a three-year period can bring innovations to scale in collaboration with governments that wish to focus on innovations to improve quality of service delivery. Together with other donors, Laerdal and GFF hope that this commitment can continue to grow.
