LGH Welcomes Four New Members to the Team
We are happy to announce that we have four new members who have joined our team in Stavanger.
Ole Terje Østrem, Industrial Designer
Ole Terje finished his masters degree in Industrial Design Engineering from NTNU in 2008. Since graduating he have been working as an Industrial Designer for two Norwegian design consultancy companies. This has led Ole Terje to acquire a versatile base of knowledge ranging from material and production insights, to the importance of communicating directly to the end users, and develop solutions through co creation.
Jenny Gilbertson, Product Development Intern
Jenny just completed her masters degree in Bioengineering Innovation & Design from Johns Hopkins University this past May. She has done research in India, Nepal, Senegal and is particularly interested in the intersection of device design and maternal and child health. Jenny is excited to apply her background in medical device design, chemistry, materials, and public health into her work with the Laerdal Global Health team.
Barrett Yates, Product Development Intern
Barrett recently completed his masters in Bioengineering Innovation & Design at Johns Hopkins University. Barrett couldn’t be more excited to join the Laerdal Global Health family! He brings engineering and design experience in both medical devices and consumer products, along with a passion for finding new ways to solve tough problems.
Cansu Akarsu, Industrial Designer
Cansu did her industrial design education at Istanbul Technical University in Turkey, TUDelft in the Netherlands and KAIST, South Korea. With a motivation to create positive social impact, she has been awarded with several projects focusing on low-resource settings. Her graduation from university was followed by fieldwork experiences in Uganda, designing on-site with local users - a strong skill she is bringing to the Laerdal Global Health team.
